Scout Report: Michael Olise

With another Transfer Window in full swing, here is another scout report of a young player who could soon be on the move.

Michael Olise is a young French attacking midfielder who is currently on the books of Reading. The young playmaker has been through the academy at both Chelsea and Manchester City before joining the southern side in 2018, he can play through the middle or out wide, with his pace being an attribute he uses well. Olise’s biggest strength though is his wide creative passing ability that include long lobbed balls and simple through balls to set up strikers.

At 19, the 2020/21 season is tipped to be the star’s breakout season and has started off well with Olise getting four goals and eight assists in 17 league appearances so far. Olise makes 1.6 key passes per game with a passing accuracy of 81.8% showing his full ability of playing attackers in and being able to bring others into the forward action of the game.

Olise, though young and raw, has all the potential to be a top player, his pedigree and current form back that up, so long as the improvement continues a move could be on the horizon within the window.

Arsenal are a team looking for a creative midfielder much like Olise, along with Leeds United and Chelsea and are very much linked with him, in this window a move would be doubtful but with Olise’s rumoured release clause to be around £8 million, it is something that could definitely happen soon.
